The two scholarships that have been set up were
done so to make a difference in someones life. When Heather moved
to Florida as a Disney Intern she struggled financially and Kim and
I could only help so much.
Immediately after Heather was killed we began working with Harford
Community College ( which Heather and now Drew attend)
We set up 2 $2500 scholarships that will be awarded annually. I
will list them below with the details of each. For this year we
were able to get them because of the HEATHER L HURD memorial fund we
set up in January. Family and friend donated in such a way that we
were able to pay for the 2 scholarships through 2009. In the next
month or so we will be leaving an endowment to the college. This
endowment will be used in any way the college sees fit but will
also pay for the 2 scholarships forever!! In addition we are in
negotiations for naming rights for either a building, a wing or a
classroom that will be named for Heather
